Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
names Frank B. Ingraham, Jr. as the Delaware State Chair (SMYRNA, DE, 22 DEC 2011)– Delaware Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department
of Defense agency, is proud to announce that Frank B. Ingraham, Jr. of Newark, DE was recently selected and named as the new
Chair for Delaware. The Chair
is an official Department of Defense volunteer position. Mr. Ingraham has assumed the duties of the Office of DE State
Chair. He will officially be sworn in to the office by the Secretary at the next National Leadership Conference. Mr.
Ingraham will serve at the pleasure of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. The position carries
a three-year term and the protocol of a military two star flag officer. Mr. Ingraham will provide the leadership and
vision for a team of more than 30 dedicated volunteers that are spread all across the state of Delaware. Mr. Ingraham is currently a Business Process Consultant with the
DuPont Company. He has a long and distinguished record of association with numerous community volunteer organizations. Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
(ESGR) was established in 1972 to develop and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service. ESGR advocates
relevant initiatives, recognizes outstanding support, increases awareness of applicable laws, and resolves conflict between
service members and employers. Paramount to ESGR's mission is encouraging employment of Guardsmen and Reservists who bring
integrity, global perspective and proven leadership to the civilian workforce. With almost half of our Nation’s military force residing in the Guard and Reserve, Mr. Frank
Ingraham will have a direct impact on these brave men and women and their civilian employers. “The patriotic support
of America’s employers and the employees they share with the nation ensures the viability of the all-volunteer force,
and thus our national security. ESGR applauds employers who practice personnel policies that support employee participation
in the Guard and Reserve,” stated Mrs. Christine Kubik, Delaware ESGR Executive Director. For more information on this, volunteering with DE ESGR,

civilian employers and Guard and Reserve members on responsibilities each has under USERRA law.
Delaware’s
Civilian Employers Experience Military Life
DE
ESGR announced 22 employers of 512th Airlift Wing (AW) Air Force reservists participated in Employer Appreciation Day held
October 2 at Dover Air Force Base, Del. The event, co-sponsored by the 512th Airlift Wing and Delaware ESGR is designed
to give employers a taste of what it's like to be a Citizen Airman. Twenty-two
employers from the local area and surrounding states participated in the event where employers met wing leadership, toured
work areas and gained a broader understanding of what reservists do to support the 512th AW mission. Today we're going to give you an overview of what your employees do here
while performing their Reserve duties," said Col. Randal L. Bright, 512th AW commander. "You will see some of the
great things reservists accomplish at Dover Air Force Base every day. This event also provides us an opportunity to thank
you for your support of our nation's military and critical role in national defense. Without your support we can't accomplish
our mission." The employers participated in the
C-17 Globemaster III orientation flight. For many, this was their first experience on a military aircraft.
The approximately two-hour flight took the civilian employers from Dover, Del., to Kittyhawk, N.C., and back.
"It
was phenomenal to see how such a huge cargo operation is managed to perfection," said Jeff Evans, owner of Blue Cardinal,
LLC. "I've been to naval bases before as I've had employees in the Navy Reserve, but this experience at Dover is one-of-a-kind."
"It was fantastic to see the areas in which many of our Air Force Reserve employees work, and
to me, the role reservists play is as important as their active-duty counterparts," said Mark Seeney, manager of Lowe's
Hardware Store, Camden, Del. "It was fun to see a demonstration on how military working dogs will
function when approached by a possible combatant."
"It
is phenomenal to see what it takes to make a Reserve wing work and it impressed me seeing what the Reserve employees accomplish
here at Dover," said Christina Eckman, manager at Wal-Mart in Milford, Del. "It was once-in-a-lifetime experience
on a military aircraft and the ride was awesome, especially sitting in the flight deck for few minutes."
